Affirmations are still not as widely valued and believed as they should be. It seems as if people either love or hate them. But do affirmations really work? Are the critics right? Personally I believe in affirmations and the underlying power they contain. A statement that you repeat over and over you eventually believe as fact. Whether it’s a positive or negative statement, you will believe it about yourself if you say it enough times. That’s why you must be careful of what you think and the things you speak. You are speaking your future with every word you say.
I would like you to put affirmations into action in your life. Prove to yourself that they do, in fact, work. However, as you experiment with this, I want you to be totally convinced that this works.
Decide a negative or unsupportive thought that needs to be replaced. Next, come up with an affirmation that perfectly replaces the negative thought. If you need help, visit my sample affirmations section. Decide upon a simple yet meaningful statement that you can purposefully use to change limiting belies.
Next I want you to make a commitment to yourself that you will not stop until that old belief or thought has been replaced. What you will find is that as you begin, the act of repeating your affirmations with power, feeling and conviction will bring a strength and mental focus to your mind like you’ve never experienced before. Daily affirmations will get your day started with purpose and passion.
Affirmations only work when you work them. If you work them, they will work for you.

Hey Demond, very cool post. I have always thought affirmations don’t work. But as you said, I never was committed to making them work for me. I took your suggestion. I wrote an affirmation, said it over and over and you were right. I felt as if not only could I change my thinking, but also everything else.
Thanks
Thanks for great post. I have been fan of affirmation for 6 month now. I like a lot. They do work for me.
This is a great article. I firmly believe in affirmations and their power. It’s one of the tools I use with my coaching clients as part of our neurolinguistic programming process. Keep up the good work.
