Is success really as easy as making a decision?  Well, yes and no.  Yes as it relates to being crystal clear what you want and what it will take to get there.  No as it relates to the ease or difficulty it will take to achieve it.  In this life, there is no something for nothing.  Whatever you want, you must pay a price to achieve it.  Making a decision is like the rudder on a ship that takes you to your destination.

Success always seems possible as we approach a new year.  There are so many things we’d like to do that we quickly get overwhelmed and most of us end up doing very little as a result.  Don’t fall into that trap.  Decide today what you want and why it’s important for you to achieve it.

Keep in mind there are no right or wrong answers.  Follow your heart.  Take a moment to think of a goal that was impossible.  For me, I think back to the Wright Brothers.  Flying an airplane was so far out of the scope of reality I can only imagine the ridicule they had to overcome.

To give you a start, answer the following questions:

1) If it were already a year from now, what achievements would I like to have accomplished?

2) If I had all the time I needed to devote to a project, what would I undertake?

3) If money were no object, what would I pursue?

Spend some time answering these questions and you should have a clear idea of what few things you’d like to focus on.  In order to make this your best year ever, you must be crystal clear what you want, why you want it and what are the best ways to achieve it.
